@Marc: Many thanks for adding your Canopus experience here. It will be helpful to other users who run into the same problem.

I do hope that someday ProTools outgrows these little bugs and quirks. Someday, maybe it’ll stop being so fussy about what’s plugged in where, and in what order. Then we can all get back to making beautiful sound, and stop reading blogs like this.

Hi John, I had a LOT of problems with this bloody 6093 error.
But with your help and few some on the web, i found the solution. Like you said : connect Digi on the front panel, reduce CPU Usage. But in my case i had this problem ONLY with a Canopus (use for a quicktime picture on tv an not on the computer screen). i finally found the solution : DISCONNECT the Canopus prior to booting the mac!!!!
So….
