@Jim: Yes, the electromagnetic field presents a whole other wonderful world of energy and sound. Stephen McGreevy has made a career of making audio recordings of the sounds of lightning-generated 'sferics — it's wild and beautiful stuff! See http://www-pw.physics.uiowa.edu/mcgreevy/ .

Oh, and by the way:

I'm a professional geologist, and I heard an earthquake and its aftershocks speeded up once in grad school. Sounded like a thunderstorm..... Very cool if you have some of that on the CD.

I'm also a ham radio operator, and have a set of CDs I bought ~15 years ago that have Voyager recordings of the EM fields of the planets and moons it flew past.

There are several pricey CDs on a new Age website that feature earth's EM field. It'll rattle the windows and make your hair stand on end, it's so impressive. We are living in the middle of an EM storm, protected by 'Ol Gaia, and don't even know it.

On-ground recordings/reception of ULF 'spherics are also cool to listen to (EM down in the audio range). Gotta get 'way out of Dodge' to lose the powerline buzz, but worth the drive.

I have been hearing vibrations very similar to what you have recorded for several years. At times I can not sleep due to the noise. I was not sure what it was. Maybe it as you suggest that these low frequency vibrations are coming from the earth. I am still not sure what it all signifies. Thank You for your recordings.

@Carl: Unfortunately, this particular track is not on the "Earth Sound" CD. But I think you're right: it might be worth making a longer version for a CD. I'll give it some thought. Thanks -- great idea!

The last clip of 25 years put me in a trance immediately. You're right, it's in our bones! Thanks! If it's on your CD I'll buy it, ideally I'd like a long version to meditate to.
