The emergence of meaning from observations of studio mass accumulation

A portion of Figure 1 from the article.

For five months in 2006 I meticulously recorded the weight of everything that passed into and out of my studio, carefully annotating each measurement: lunch & box of nails IN; full bladder OUT; empty bladder IN; stepladder OUT; etc.

The results of this study were published in the hypothetical Journal of Tangible Intuitions (Volume 8, No. 3, March 2008).

I have a limited number of reprints of this article. It’s a professionally printed 8-page saddle-stitched offset print. It includes the complete text of the article, including PDF documentFigure 1, a 50″×9″ full-color accordion-fold chart that attempts to express the meaning latent in the raw observations.
